A: YES! The cornices are already primed and painted “trim white” and can be left as is straight out of the box. They can be painted using standard latex, oil or spray paint, stained and even faux finished in any way desired. Consult your Lowe’s paint department for options.
Q: Does the customer need power tools?
A: NO. Simple hand tools as described on the packaging and instructions are all that are needed to install the cornice. These tools are a Phillips head screw driver, small hand saw, and bubble level.
Q: Why would a customer use a cornice?
A: The cornices were designed to provide a decorative element to the customers home as well as providing a way to cover the unsightly rails, brackets, rods and metal housings for mini blinds, vertical blinds and other hard or soft window treatments.
Q: What windows or doors can the customer cover with the cornice?
A: You can use the cornice over nearly any window and many door frames. They work best on slider doors or doors that open out. The cornice covers the top of the frame and could prohibit doors from swinging.
Q: Does the customer need to use more than one cornice to cover a single window?
A: NO. We have two standard size cornices. The smaller 42 inch cornice will fit almost all standard single windows. The longer 78 inch cornices will fit any other window or application that is longer than 42”.
Q: What if the customer’s window is larger than 78 inches?
A: We have designed the cornices so that two or more pieces can be connected together to create extended lengths using the medallion. All the customer needs to do is take the overall all length that they need, cut two rails to create identical lengths equaling ½ of the total desired length and connect the two pieces together using a center medallion.
Q: Can the customer use the medallion if they don’t need to connect multiple front rails?
A: YES. The medallion is a decorative element too. All the customer needs to do is cut the cornice in half with a hand saw and install the medallion.

A: YES . The customer can cut the cornice with a simple hand saw to fit any size that they may need. There are pre-measured marks on the reverse side for cutting and easy installation instructions.

A: NO. All of the mounting hardware is included in the box.
Q: How many different styles are available to the customer?
A: There are three different styles in both of the 42” and 78” length available.
Q: Can the customer use the cornice as a shelf?
A: YES. The cornice is designed with an insert at the top. This insert is made to accept a piece of 1/4” MDF plywood for a shelf. The shelf will sit flush to the top of the cornice so it will never be seen from the floor. The cornice is designed to create a lightweight shelf capable of holding 20 - 25 LBS, allowing the customer to place other decorative elements to further accent your window. These accents could be just about anything like baskets, silk greenery, or any other decorative accents.
Q: What kind of walls can this be mounted to?
A: The cornice comes with all of the hardware necessary to mount to a standard drywall application. It can be used in many other applications like masonry walls with additional hardware that can be purchased in the hardware department.
